Named Absolute Champion in the pear brandy category at the 2013 Zlaty Destilat Dunaj competition in Slovakia and declared among the ten best spirits in the world at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Spirits Selection, this expression has earned serious international recognition.

Production & Heritage

Zaric distillery operates in Kosjeric, a town in the mountainous heart of Central Serbia with a long tradition of fruit brandy production. Nirvana is distilled from the Williams pear cultivar — known locally as viljamovka — using traditional copper pot stills, with each bottle requiring approximately 8–10 kilograms of fresh pears. In a deliberate departure from conventional brandy aging, the spirit is stored exclusively in stainless steel (innox) containers rather than wooden barrels, a choice made specifically to protect the delicate pear fragrance from any wood influence.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: The nose opens with an exceptionally fine, true-to-fruit Williams pear scent — gentle and subtle rather than aggressive. There is a natural sweetness in the aroma that mirrors ripe, just-picked fruit without any artificial character.

Taste: The palate delivers a full yet tender impression, as though biting into a perfectly ripe Williams pear. The mid-palate develops with a soft, rounded sweetness balanced by a clean, spirit-driven structure. The fruit intensity builds without heaviness, staying remarkably faithful to the varietal character of the pear.

Finish: The finish is notably long-lasting and harmonious, with lingering pear notes that refuse to fade quickly. A gentle warmth carries through, and the aftertaste remains clean and fruit-forward without any bitterness or harshness.
