“Our goal is making wines of the utmost quality with a strong identity, personality and a profound sense of place.” - Founder Alejandro Bulgheroni

When Alejandro Bulgheroni and his wife Bettina discovered Garzón, they made a dream come true: to have the most emblematic winery of modern viticulture in Uruguay and offer premium wines with an intense personality and a deep sense of belonging to the land.

With the advice of international enologist Alberto Antonini, they focused on producing wines that are a true expression of their origins. Experts on viticulture, environmental care, gastronomy, hospitality and tourism completed a team committed to this unprecedented project.

Geology in the Garzón area belongs to the Crystalline Basement, which gave origin to the oldest soils in the planet over 2500 million years ago. When these rocks are altered and broken down over million years, a fantastic soil of weathered rock is formed called ballast.

Another key element of our terroir is the strong influence of the Atlantic Ocean, which is only 18 km away. This leads to a steady, pleasant, fresh breeze that caresses our vines, an effect noticed in our wines.

Our vineyard is divided over 1000 plots based on microclimates, different orientations, varied levels of humidity, sun exposure and soil characteristics, producing small vineyards of incredible biodiversity within them, including indigenous forests and natural palm trees.

We are prioritizing the sustainable management of our vineyards by eliminating the use of herbicides and synthetic products to obtain high-quality, juicy grapes with a greater typicity and re-implementing traditional cultural practices.

Grapes are hand-picked at optimum ripeness. Hand selecting bunches guarantees that the grapes to be fermented will be of the highest quality. The vinification process minimizes any possible intervention for maximum conservation of the typical characteristics of Garzon's native land.

Built in the terraced hills, our winery’s staggered design uses a gravity system to produce fine wines of the highest quality. Our efficient facilities maximize the use of energy resources while generating wind and photovoltaic energy.
