The 2017 Brunello is a wine of light and energy. On the nose crispy notes of sour cherries, blood oranges and small red berry fruits are accompanied by scents of Mediterranean balsamic herbs and a touch of flint. On the palate energy, sweet fruit and silky tannins form a caressing sensation of elegance and equilibrium, leading us towards a long-lingering finish with a distinct savory touch, fresh and clean. For 7th generations the Biondi Santi family has ensured the excellence of this historic brand, producing Brunello of rare finesse and longevity, known to defy the century mark. The Brunello Biondi-Santi is a testament to the unique terroir at “Tenuta Greppo”, where high-altitude, terraced vineyards and the family’s own Sangiovese clone “BBS11” give forth grapes which excel in balance between fruit, structure, and acidity. “BBS11” (Brunello Biondi Santi 11) is, in fact, the only official varietal clone which bears the name of a producer.
