An unusually early distillation cut gives Clynelish Waxen Sun its bright tropical-fruit character. Eighteen years in refill casks preserve that fruit while the distillery’s waxy texture adds weight and depth.

Flavor profile

Lychee, pineapple and melon aromas sit over a chalky mineral note. The creamy, waxy palate balances sweetness and fresh acidity before a warming, spicy fruit finish.

Pairing & serving

Try with mild creamy cheese or grilled scallops. Try neat at room temperature, then add a few drops of water or a large ice cube to taste. No decanting is needed.

After opening & when to enjoy

Keep upright, tightly closed, away from heat and sunlight. The spirit is ready to enjoy and does not continue barrel aging in the bottle. After opening, aim to enjoy within about a year for the freshest aroma, especially as the bottle empties.
