Ahhhh, Ferragosto. If you know, you know. And if you don’t, let me tell you about one of the best Italian festivals in The Bronx.
This one-day event in The Bronx’s Little Italy is everything you love about Italian culture packed into a beautiful Sunday. Picture Arthur Avenue transformed into an open-air festival where Italian food, music, and entertainmentcome together, just like the ingredients in your favorite Italian dish.
FOOD. Ferragosto is the day when the Italian vendors go all out. It’s not just the regular lineup from your favorite Italian shops. No, we’re talking about the pork store and Italian butchers cooking up hot sausage and peppers right on the street. The smells and sounds? Forget about it. You’ll be following your nose from one stand to another, like a moth to a flame. Every corner has something sizzling, from fresh meats to pastries that’ll make you wish you’d saved room for dessert. It’s like Nonna’s kitchen spilled onto the avenue.
MUSIC. The parks department is bringing a stage, and it’ll be packed with local musicians playing the classic Italian songs that fill the neighborhood with lively energy. You’ll be dancing in the streets of Little Italy Bronx before you know it.
ENTERTAINMENT. We’ve got a troupe of actors dressed in full Venetian attire. Think masks, costumes, and that dramatic flair that only Italy can deliver. They’ll be roaming the streets, and you might just feel like you’ve stepped into a Renaissance play.
But here’s the best part of the day: the wine. And not just any wine. We’re opening over 15 bottles of super Italian winesfor you to sample. That’s right, 15. From light, crisp Italian white wines to bold, full-of-flavor, earthy Italian red wines, it’s like a tour of Italy’s vineyards without ever leaving the Bronx. And don’t forget our friends at Campari, who’ll be mixing up Italian cocktails that’ll have you toasting the day away. Ever had an authentic Negroni at a street festival? Now’s your chance.
Here's what we are pouring that day
Ferragosto is a family-friendly event. It’s the perfect balance of fun for the kids, grandma, grandpops, and even your picky aunt and uncle.
