In each edition of The Boss Hog, we endeavor to explore uncharted territory. This limited release is our latest creation on an ongoing journey, unfurling a chronicle as rich and bold as the whiskey itself: Our eighth edition succeeds Magellan's Atlantic, sailing our sense of wonder towards the southeast archipelago. To get there we must tack a course across the mighty Pacific and reimagine the outward boundaries of Rye.

But first, a little backstory. Before reaching the spice islands, Captain Magellan met his fate at the hands of the legendary Filipino warrior Lapulapu. A fierce and vociferous detender of independence, Lapulapu led his island home to victory against the Spaniards. There he forged a successful fortification, staving off colonial occupation for more than forty years.

You'll find his pewter effigy standing guard atop the whiskey you now hold. His valiant spirit is immortalized in the bold Rye which bears his name. A celebration of strength, Lapulapu's Pacific finds its way from American Oak to a finish in single-island, small batch rum from the Philippines.

These casks previously sat for upwards of a decade, saturating their high toast staves in a rich and textured sugarcane spirit. After rendezvousing with our Rye the cooperage imparts fragrant notes of cacao, brown sugar and dried pineapple. All of it evoking a vibrant, tropical landscape 8,535 miles west of the whiskey's final resting place.

An alluring and sumptuous sequel to its predecessor, Lapulapu's Pacific is a singular triumph all its own. It marks a compelling conclusion to The Boss Hog's two part circumnavigation... An epic odyssey in taste and terroir.
