No winery captures the essence of the Sonoma County lifestyle better than Murphy-Goode. Founded in 1985 by friends Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and David Ready, the winery has been embraced by both serious and casual wine drinkers for its exceptional wines. Murphy-Goode's home base is the Alexander Valley, a rural agricultural haven in northeastern Sonoma County that is particularly adept at producing great Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, all specialties of Murphy-Goode. When the winery was established in 1985, founders Tim Murphy and Dale Goode were two of the most important and cutting-edge growers in the Alexander Valley. They brought wire trellising, broad-scale drip irrigation, leaf pulling and other modern viticulture techniques to this bucolic AVA. The third founding member, David Ready, was the marketing expert of the group - bringing the signature personality to the brand. In addition to harvesting fruit from estate vineyards in the Alexander Valley, the winery sources fruit from a handful of premier grower vineyards primarily in Sonoma County and throughout California's coastal vineyards. Under the watchful eye of David Ready, Jr., winemaker since 2001 and son of co-founder, David Ready, Murphy-Goode's wines are pure, ripe, fruit driven and elegant.
