Rare and Excellent whiskies from the early parcels created in our stillhouse, originally bond No.1
Our Bond House No.1 Single Malt Whiskies have been created and long-matured at our distillery. The Bond warehouse No.1 was the largest of Glenmorangie's traditional 19th century warehouse and in 1990 it became our stillhouse, the heart of our whisky creation. The exclusive Glenmorangie releases from bond house No.1 are exceptionally smooth, complex and elegant.
Grand Vintage Malt 1996
Our Grand vintage malt 1996 is luxurious and creamy. Captured at its peak by our skilful whisky creators, this single malt is shared at its remarkable best.
Wonderfully magnifying the fruity style of Glenmorangie, the 1996 offers a fresh, perfumed nose, with floral notes, coriander and a fruity sweetness. Zesty textures lead to tastes of orange and lemon tempered by vanilla, before ginger. sweet chili and oak shine through. Then cake mix, pear and almonds entwine in a delicate finish. An exquisite single malt whisky to be savoured and enjoyed.
- Dr Bill Lumsden
Aroma: A cornucopia of floral and fruity notes. Pear, honeysuckle and freesia mingle with orange blossom, candied fruits, mandarin, apple, heather honey and a distinctive note of beeswax. Taste: A silky, creamy mouthfeel brings with it the succulent sweetness of orange syrup, honeycomb and vanilla. Then come zesty top notes of gooseberry and menthol. Finish: Baked apples and pears abound, leading to brown sugar, biscuit and the gentlest hint of clove.
In 1843, William Matheson founded the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Inspired by the Distillery’s peaceful surroundings on the banks of the Dornoch Firth, he brought forth a pioneering single malt whisky wonderfully complex and exceptionally smooth. Ever since, we have pursued our craft with uncompromising dedication – endlessly creative in our quest for perfection. To this day, we honour the Distillery’s provenance in our award-winning single malt. Its pure, smooth spirit is distilled in Scotland’s tallest stills, matured in the finest casks and perfected by The Men of Tain.
