Sant’Helena wines are made from grapes of the utmost level of quality and are grown in the best situated crus within the Vigneti Fantinel vineyards. The whites come from the Collio DOC area and the reds from the Grave del Friuli DOC area. The Collio extends along the northern hilly strip of the province of Gorizia, hugging the border with Slovenia, in close proximity to the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Coast. The soils are composed of stratified sandstone and marl. Grave, which includes a vast, cultivated surface area astride the Tagliamento River between the province of Udine and Pordenone, is an ample flood plain formed by the great alluvial cones of Meuna, Cellina and Tagliamento Rivers. Sant’Helena wines exhibit great richness and concentration.
