Taster Joel Harrison
Nose: This noses like an old whisky with plenty of dunnage warehouses, polished walnut wood, dates and aged rum.
Palate: A wonderfully rich and complex palate with a huge amount of mixed fruits of all colours (red, yellow and blue) with a slight herbal note that nods in the direction of absinthe.
Finish: Pure Lion's golden syrup and rum. Loganberries.
Comment: Rum baba in a glass, a stand out whisky in this flight.
Taster Annabel Meikle
Nose: Delicate musky rose, baked peach and strawberry compote. The nose has a soothing balm-like quality like polished cedarwood and rich runny honey.
Palate: Cherry lozenge, linctus syrup and liquorice. Orange and rose Turkish delight, spicy sumac and red currant jelly.
Finish: Sweet and coating, a little cloying but relaxes with water.
Comment: This feels quite fragile so treat gently and take your time.
